Pregnancy After Loss

Please check out my new piece on Still Standing Magazine: Pregnancy After Loss.

Facing a pregnancy loss is difficult, grief-filled, and often traumatic. When we lost Sophia, I just knew I would never again let myself be that vulnerable. As time went on, I learned I could do it.

My latest piece on Still Standing Magazine speaks to the the kind of bravery many of us take on as we fight against the fear of what may happen in the future. Our tortured hearts can take so much more than we can fathom. And always, the fight is worth it. My story may end with a rainbow baby, and for that I am eternally grateful. But it is my losses that have made me into the compassionate, deeply emotional, and more understanding writer I am today. Through my losses, I can dip into a profound part of the world that before I would never have understood.

I have been working on this memoir-style project for a while now, and I'm excited to share it with others. My hope is to get as wide an audience as possible, and to receive comments, suggestions, and ideas to improve and expand what I have. I also want to encourage others to become curious about the topic of babies, and the loss that can come with the adventures of trying to start a family. In the world of celebrating healthy babies, we who know otherwise need a voice too.
